I'll be back soon « Result #2 on Sept 4, 2003, 8:29pm »
OK you guys don't know this, but before I even started playing Planetside, I was the leader of Blood Alliance a Warcraft III clan. I am still the leader of this clan but I have not been a good elader to them lately. I have been spending way too much time on Planetside and Savage (I got the beta like a week ago). So I will be playing Warcraft a lot more, that combined with homework since school has started is going to serisously cut into my Planetside time. I am working on getting this outfit into a good situation but help from you guys in any form is really appreciated.

The importance of galaxies « Result #6 on Aug 25, 2003, 10:49pm »
The galaxy transport is an extremly useful, if not necessary tool in Planetside. Not only ca it bring troops to the battlefield, It has many other uses as well.
HOTDROP - The famed hotdrop is when a galaxy flies over an enemy held base or tower and the soldiers inside(except the pilot of course) bail out and lang on the roof. This lets you attack from an unexpected angle and vs the TR get behind those d**ned Pounder MAXs instead of feeding them free kills. There are several things to remember when hotdropping. 1. keep your advanced medics alive. If you are the adv medic of the group its probably in their best interest if you cower in the back and let them take the heavy hitting. 2. Keep MAXs at full armor. A MAX causes a lot more problems for the enemy than a normal soldier so engineers do eveyrhting possible tokeep them standing. 3. Pilots find a safe place to wait/land the gal and come running to help. Galaxies are extremly difficult to get form anywhere other than the sanctuary so protect them! 4. Pilots stop directly over the tower/base. It's hard to get your timing just right (especially with lag) when dropping so hover above the target drop zone so they have a chance to bail and actually hit the target.
ANT RUNS - ANT runs are necessary in Planetside, otherwise the whole world would be neutral. Galaxies cna trnsport ANTs to and from warpgate making them much faster and much safer. Remember ANTs give you a nice little boost in exp so don't hesitate to go on an ANT run when asked.
DISTRACTIONS - When people see a Gal they think "OH nuts A WHOLE SQUAD IS ABOUT TO HOT DROP ON OUR BASE" and focus all of their firepower into the big flying bus. For this reason you can fly a galaxy fairly low by a base and when all the enemies see it they start pouring everything available into it. Now, the galaxy mgiht die, so if you aren't going to be able to get antoher don;t do this. But it's a tough plane so it's easy to run by, take some hits, and use afterburners to run away. The only problem is if enemy aircraft follow you, then unless you have mosquitos or reavers to cover you you're screwed. Durring that little while the enemy is panicking and aftercelebrating they stopped a hot drop, claokers can sneak past the front lines, a squad can blow up an AMS, a friendly AMS can run by unnoticed in the confusion, whatever else you need to be sneaky to do.
Unfortunately not many soldiers are up to being a flying bus driver. You won't get many kills and probably not as much exp, but you will be tipping the battle in our favor which will end up in more base caps which means more exp. So go fly the bus!
Complimentary certs « Result #8 on Aug 23, 2003, 7:48pm »
If you find yourself playing with the same couple of people a lot(such as your friends) try to compliment each other. For example, DooLy is a medic and I'm an engineer. This way as long as we stay alive we can keep each other at full health/armor. Here are a few other combinations - MAX and engineer
- 2 snipers, if you coordinate to hit the same target(using a microphone would be the best way) you kill him instantly
- Engineer and any vehicle
- Mag rider and gunner with range magnifier. Since the mag rider's gun is so accurate it can be used effectively over great distances.
